CLARIVEIN

varicose vein surgeryThe Vein Clinic Singapore is proud to introduce this technique in varicose veins treatment.

Clarivein is another addition to the minimal invasive treatment of varicose veins. It uses a special catheter with a wire tip rotating at high speed that effectively damages the venous intima. At the same time, the catheter allows controlled injection of sclerosant that closes the vein.

Unlike Laser (EVLT) or Radiofrequency (VNUS) which uses heat to ablate varicose veins. Clarivein employs unique mechanical-chemical ablation technique. This technique is painless and therefore requires a lot less local anesthetic injections. Additionally, there is also no risk of heat induced injury to surrounding nerves.

Patient Benefits

  • No risk of thermal injury
  • No nerve or skin damage
  • Minimal bruising
  • No tumescent anesthesia
  • No pain and minimal discomfort or bruising
  • Very quick return to normal activities

1. ClariVein infusion catheter is introduced percutaneously into the vein under ultrasound guidance. The catheter tip is positioned near the saphenofemoral junction. No tumescent anesthesia required.

2. The motorized handle of the ClariVein catheter is used to rotate the catheter tip during pullback, creating vessel spasm to block forward flow and concentrate the targeted infusion of liquid sclerosant.
